Would I Stay Here? Yes, but only on the 8th floor. New rooms on 8th floor.

Across the street is a stadium that is a giant clothes market. People come from the distant villages to purchase clothes in hopes of re-selling these items at a profit. Some of them stay at this hotel. The Yunost is very close to a metro station and is situated outside of the main core area of the center of the city. The first thing I noticed about the hotel was its dirty, worn carpets. This lowered my expectations by quite a lot. They showed me rooms on the 7th floor first. The corridor had halogen lights, but they were off. I guessed they were trying to save electricity.

The standard rooms were just so-so and tired looking. The bathrooms in the standard are old. But then they showed me the 8th floor. The 8th floor corridor is nice with sand-colored walls and a peachy type of carpet color. It looked fine. Nice doors to the individual rooms. And the new rooms on the 8th floor are all good, with air conditioning! And for guests on this floor they serve breakfast right to your door! I saw rooms 802 and 803. Thumbs up on those.

Back on the ground floor... you pass through a metal detector to enter the lobby! It is an old, tired-looking lobby. To the left is a restaurant with new furnishings. I liked the booths - they looked comfortable. A fish tank is in the restaurant. I like the calming effect that aquariums have. There is a cash machine in the lobby. They say security is good. To me, this is just an average hotel. But the 8th floor rooms are good. The language barrier with the front desk could make dealing with them uncomfortable.

The hotel is within walking distance of an interesting graveyard and monastery.
