Xian Sheraton Hotel

Street Address: No. 262 Fenghao Road,
Xian, China 701177 Fax Number: (86-29) 8426-2188 Location Rating: Good. Near the City Wall and the West Second Ring Road. Xian is a large city, much like Beijing and Shanghai and transportation is needed to go to the main tourist attractions but transportation is readily available in all these cities. The neighborhood where this hotel is located seems to be a mix of shops and residential area. One morning we watched as little children in school uniforms with their backpacks were escorted to school by their Mother. There is a park nearby (seems like there is a park nearby everywhere in China!) and we found it enjoyable walking in the area. Lobby Appearance: The lobby of this hotel has a huge tear-drop chandelier that seems to be the main focus but there are several other interesting features. There is a replica of one of the chariots and horses that were unearthed with the Terracotta Warriors (major tourist attraction). A mural in the lobby area above the service desk is quite spectacular also. A seating area and several shops complete the lobby and provide guests with a nice place to wait for your tour group to assemble. Room Appearance: Exceptionally clean and well appointed. As with most of the hotels on our tour, an in-room safe was provided along with TV, coffee maker, terry cloth robes, hair dryer, internet access and several chairs and tables. Useful Nearby Businesses: A variety of small shops were nearby. The staff spoke English and a currency exchange counter was part of the service desk. Other Amenities: There is a pool with a nearby bar, sauna, beauty salon and mini-golf, a nightclub and karaoke lounge. The restaurant specializes in Cantonese, Regional and Western cuisine .
Would we stay here again? With pleasure! Comments: In our two week tour in China, the evening meal in the hotel restaurant our first night was THE BEST of our entire trip. Buffet style, there were many selections to choose from, all of which were well labeled in English and they had a marvelous dessert bar in addition. The food was wonderful and we all ate more than we should have. We certainly slept well after that meal!! Submitted by a former guest of this hotel on March 28, 2005. |
