* One Of The Best Hotel Values In Moscow *

I found one of the best hotel deals in Moscow. It is the Warsaw Hotel. When I saw the entrance, I immediately had lowered expectations. Then I was surprised! They have been renovating their hotel and have decided to keep pricing low. Their most expensive room is 6000 rubles, but you can get a single for as low as 2000 rubles and a double for 3500 rubles. The rooms are brand new - with AC, room safes(!), hair dryers and really nice bathrooms. The hotel is very central, and breakfast and taxes are included in the room rate! Plus, the metro is right there - in the same building! And, they have internet access available in a really nice internet room for $3 an hour! That is a bargain.

This is a quiet hotel with 100 rooms. The secret is out and they are often fully booked. You need to plan in advance to stay here.

Whoever their interior designer is - they screwed up a little bit. Everything is modern, and then they added 1930's style crystal chandeliers and classical style curtains. It is an odd combination. But besides that flaw, this hotel still has a lot of value.

It is very close to Gorky Park and the 20th Century State Tretyakov Gallery.

Hi -

I just wanted to express my appreciation for your hotel
reviews. I stayed at the Warsaw hotel in Moscow on
your recommendation and was very happy with it. You
might want to revise your copy to emphasize how close
the metro is. It is literally a few steps from the
front door of the hotel. I found that to be its best
feature.

FYI - After reading your review about the Warsaw Hotel in Moscow, I was
looking forward to staying there.

My wife called to ask about a room, and the clerk at the hotel told her that
she was busy and she did not want to talk to her.  She said the girl was a
real bitch, and she did not want to stay there.

I called them and asked about a room, and was told that one room was
available, and the rate, and then told that the reservation desk was not
open and to contact them the following day.

I sent an e-mail right away to follow up on the call.

I called again the next day, 9am Moscow time, confirmed the fax number and
faxed the reservation request to them.

No response the next day to confirm.

I called them again today, and they told me that they did have my fax, but
that they did not have the room.  They told me that they did not feel the
need to contact me because it was not their problem - they were booked.

I have lived and worked in Russia for 7 years, and am accustomed to a very
low level of service, however, I expected more of this property after
reading your review.

I am completely annoyed with the staff at this hotel, my wife was right
about the service staff, and I will not recommend that hotel to anybody.

You may feel that the hotel is the best value in Moscow, but pay a little
extra, and receive a pleasant voice on the line.
