Would I Stay Here? Hmm... I really don't think so.

It was difficult to find the proper entrance to this facility. After I entered the communal foyer, I saw that it was well lit, recently painted, and clean. But then I noticed a horrible odor that smelled like a combination of cat pee and garbage!

Only with instruction from a Russian speaking foyer attendant were we able to find the right door. Finally we were away from the horrible odor and we found ourselves in a long, sort of dark, not very nice corridor. We found that the building was full of ordinary Russian inhabitants. And these neighbors to the "mini-hotel" were not appealing.

Eventually we entered the "mini-hotel." It consisted of 3 rooms - each with bathrooms. This was just an apartment that somebody converted into a micro-hotel. The bathrooms are nice. The bedrooms are new, but they also are the bare minimum in comfort. There is no staff to help you. You are on your own as a guest there. And when you stay there, you go deep into what it is like to live among ordinary Saint Petersburg citizens. This isn't a good thing for this particular location.

I advise against staying here. But if you do find your way there, watch your head as you enter the room to the left. If you are tall, you'll hit your head on the doorway.

As we left, the gagging putrid odor was almost too much. What a relief it was to breathe in some cold January air out on the street! They said they had sprayed for roaches... hmm... it smelled like cat pee and garbage to me. And I saw the cat food dishes in the stairwell.

I think this "mini-hotel" is only suitable for Russians. It is not a good place for foreigners.

I'm sorry I have to trash someone's small business. It just is not appropriate for the average foreign visitor. And people would be shocked if they did not have advance knowledge of what the actual facility is like.
