Location: Very good. Right in the Old Town, but closer to its far end. This luxurious (and very expensive!) boutique hotel is located in a complex of three similar historical buildings of the 14th century, known as the “Three Sisters.” This is how the hotel got its quite unusual name. This historical complex is very famous and is included in all guide books; you can even buy souvenirs with its image (I did!). Although the hotel was opened just 2 years ago, its façade really needs some fresh paint (see photo).

Lobby Appearance: Romantic. The lounge of this classy, hi-end hotel has a homey atmosphere thanks to the original fireplace, decorations, and copies of famous paintings on the walls.

Room Appearance: Great! All rooms are luxuriously furnished. They are spacious and different in shape and size. Entrances to some of the rooms are located in a small courtyard. The first room I saw was one of them. The combination of old spirit and modern facilities makes this room fantastic. You can hardly believe it, but it is located in a former stable. Only wooden walls with iron rings for tying horses remind about it. All rooms have big size beds with snow-white linen and covers, TVs, DVD-players, mini-bars and whatever you need. One of the suites even has a private balcony with a table and armchairs above the lobby. For music lovers I recommend the Piano Suite that has a great Philips home theater system and a grand piano (and a jacuzzi too to enjoy music!). All you need is to save some 600 euros.

Hotel Restaurant: There is a nice Bordoo restaurant, a wine bar and a wine cellar.

Other Amenities: To inspect this hotel was just like touring a museum that keeps the spirit and interior of an old mansion. I really was impressed by unusual designer’s ideas to combine past and present. The manager’s room is located inside an old chimney (!), a former master’s bedroom, so-called Angels Room (with original painting on the wooden ceiling), was turned into a conference hall. What is unusual is that they also have a nice library with books on arts and history, Britannika encyclopedia, board games, and a stereo system. I wish I had more time to spend there! By the way, from the library you can get into the hotel’s restroom which has decorations suitable for a shop window!

Rates: Superior 270, Deluxe 310, Grand Deluxe 320, Junior Suite 390, Suite 430, Piano Suite 590. No charge for children under 12 sharing parents’ room.

Nearby Businesses: You can find practically all you need in this exquisite hotel. If you want more, just ask front desk staff. They are very helpful. I definitely recommend seeing St. Olaf (Oleviste) Church located a bit further along Pikk (Long) Street. I’m sure you can easily find it since it is considered one of the tallest churches in Europe (160 meters high). History and Maritime Museums are also nearby.

Would I Stay Here? I’d love to. It’s an ideal quiet romantic place for honeymooners.

Staff Speaks English? What would you expect? Sure!

Comments: This is a bit overpriced hotel (I guess due to its historical residence and atmosphere of luxury), but they offer special weekend rates. Just contact them directly or check out their website. Boutique hotels are not normally rated in stars, but this is definitely a five-star hotel!
