Olevi Residents Hotel www.olevi.eePhone: + (372) 627-7650 Fax: + (372) 627-7651 Email: olevi@olevi.ee Street Address: Olevimagi 4, 10123 Tallinn, Estonia
Location Rating: Great. Right in the very heart of the Old Town, the historical center of Tallinn. Lobby Appearance: The hotel is located in a historical building dating back to the 14th century. It was completely renovated in 2003. Its elaborately decorated small lobby is very cozy and makes you feel home right when you enter the hotel. Room Appearance: Impressive! There are 37 rooms in this hotel and all of them are different in size and interior design. I was told that the building once was used as a prison and that’s why some rooms have fake barred windows as a part of their interior! I saw some double rooms and a 3-room suite and they all have antique looks: massive doors, mahogany furniture, bronze frames and decorations. The rooms are equipped with modern shower cubicles or bathtubs in spacious shining bathrooms, some even have saunas. Hotel Restaurant: The hotel has a stylish restaurant in the basement with hunting themes: rifles and a stuffed boar’s head on the wall look unusual. Italian and French cuisine are available. Other Amenities: There is a sauna for 10-12 people (16 Euros), a beauty parlor, and a business center with telecommunication facilities. Rates (low season): Single €77, Economy Double €70, Double €103, Double Deluxe €129, Suite (2 rooms) €224, Suite (3 rooms) €244, Extra Bed €19. No charge for children under 12 sharing parents’ room. Useful Nearby Businesses: You can find lots of souvenir shops, restaurants, pubs, and cafes in the neighborhood. Walk along Vene (Russian) Street and visit Tallinn City Museum (Vene 1). Also do not miss Vene 12 and Pikk 29, some of the best examples of Tallinn’s medieval residences. The Swedish Consulate is next door. Would I Stay Here? Yes, when traveling light (see comments). Staff Speaks English? Sure. Comments: Important: No elevator in this hotel! It might be rather hard for senior people to go up and down the steep spiral staircase every day. The hotel, unfortunately, is not suitable for wheelchairs and for those traveling with big heavy suitcases. This hotel seems to be very popular even in the low season. It was packed with foreign tourists when I visited it the first time. No rooms were available. They offer 30% discount when booking the room via their homepage starting from 11.10.2004!
