Sretenskaya Hotel J +7 (095) 933-5544 www.hotel-sretenskaya.ru Street Address: 15 Sretenka - Moscow, Russia
Location: Good. Nearest Metro: Sukharevskaya Staff Speaks English? Yes. But the front desk person did have difficulty in communicating with me... not perfectly fluent. Would I Stay Here? Yes. * I love the jungle atrium! What a great hang-out spot! * This 38 room hotel opened in December 2000. Indoors it is much nicer than the outside image projects. I was quite captivated by the most unusual atrium of any Moscow hotel. They made it into a fauna jungle. And there are small tables with chairs for 2 spread about in this jungle. A bar is nearby. A creek runs through it. Two giant catfish make their home there. It is so comfortable there, and each table feels very private. My assistant, Nadia, said it was "lovely." Rooms currently are priced from 200 to 320 (as of March 21, 2004). Interesting local art is on the walls. The rooms are fine and have carpeted floors. Some rooms have vaulted ceilings. The halls and rooms smell clean. They have a nice pool table area, a sauna, a small restaurant, and a fish tank in the lobby. One hour of internet access is available for 20 "units." Yow! Comments from a former guest of the Sretenskaya Hotel. (Submitted March 2005.)
Our comments on this hotel:
We stayed here for three full weeks and found it to be extremely clean,
"new" rooms, perfectly satisfactory facilities, and very kind (although
not particulary fluent in English) and attentive staff. The only down
side was the location (not close to anything of interest; although Red
Square was a 30 minute walk in a not very walk-friendly neighborhood).
We would go back.
