Location Rating: Very good. Close to the cave monastery and a nice park with a panoramic view.

Lobby Appearance: Recently updated lobby. Nice Kiev paintings on walls.

Room Appearance: The well-dressed guy at the front desk was... a jerk, and would not let us see a room. From the brochure, the rooms look good. The hotel is 20 years old, but they updated it 2 years ago.

Useful Nearby Businesses:

Hotel Restaurants: They have a smoky 24 hour cafe with sidewalk views and boom-boom music.

Other Amenities: Slot machines. Cash machine. Casino.

Would I Stay Here? Maybe.

Staff Speaks English? It appears no.

Comments: The hotel is named "Salute" and I was told that means "fireworks." Instead of waiting for the elevator, we thought we would do the stairs, but there are no stairs. Instead, it is a spiraling ramp that goes around the elevators. It's sort of like being in a parking garage. We thought this was very intriguing and found that it was easier than stairs. We liked that. The hallways on the guest floors are circles. So the rooms probably have an interesting layout. This hotel has 59 rooms. Of these, 53 are single and 6 are doubles. I enjoyed walking to the park, seeing the, eternal flame, obelisk and view. The Salute Hotel probably has some good views of old churches from its upper floors.
