Photo: Windsor Hotel, Philadelphia.
It's difficult to see in this photo, but City Hall is right down the block.

Rates: From $119, as of December 2004.

* Especially Good For Extended Stays. Close To City Hall *

Location Rating: Excellent. Within easy walking distance of City Hall and Suburban Station. Swann Fountain is close. Philadelphia Museum Of Art is about a 15 minute walk.

Lobby Appearance: Fresh. Recently updated. Calm music plays in the background.

Room Appearance: I saw one room and it was larger than usual. It had a big walk-in closet (very unusual in Philly) and plenty of other closet space. It also included a tiny, fully equipped kitchen. I liked the little kitchen. It's cozy. The kitchen was my favorite part of the room. The bathroom ceiling was low compared to all other hotels. The room also appeared to be recently updated.

Useful Nearby Businesses: "Subway" is across the street (they make sandwiches). T.G.I. Fridays is next door, plus another restaurant/bar.

Hotel Restaurants: There are two: "Asia On The Parkway," which is an oriental restaurant, and "Peakcock On The Parkway," which is an interesting little 2 story eatery with a bar.

Other Amenities: The windows open in the rooms. Rooms feature a 26" TV and VCR. Kitchen has a 4 burner gas stove. Plates, dishware, etc are in the cabinets. Refrigerator is apartment size with about 12 square feet of space.

Comments: The building is a mixture of executive long term stays, residential, and hotel guests. If you wanted to watch the annual US Pro Cycling Championship or see the Fourth Of July Fireworks, this is a good hotel to stay in. If you want to eat in a fancy restaurant, the Four Seasons Hotel is just steps away.
