Rates: $69 to $79 per night.

Location Rating: On the edge of the city limits in an area known as Bala Cynwyd. Nowhere near Center City or the Airport. It's between Center City and the suburban edge city: King Of Prussia. Bala Cynwyd feels like the suburbs. The big skyscrapers are far off in the distance. Near the Interstate 76.

Lobby Appearance: It adjusts your expectations downward. Plain. Not in a 4 star category.

Room Appearance: Rooms were updated recently, but the bathrooms are not fresh. I hate the fluorescent lighting in the bathrooms. The rooms are a good value for this location. (It will cost you an extra $100 to spend a night at the brand new Homewood Suites Hilton down the street.) Rooms have new 26 inch televisions.

Useful Nearby Businesses: Chili's restaurant is across the street. A gas station is next door. Pier 1 Imports is there, a pet store, a large supermarket and other stores. Plus the department store Lord & Taylor.

Hotel Restaurants: None.

Other Amenities: Free cable TV, HBO, free parking.

Would I Stay Here? Yes. I would feel much more refreshed at the nearby Homewood Suites Hilton though.

Comments: It's a no-frills hotel. Rooms are clean and recent. Bathrooms are clean, but a little dated. Bathroom lighting is ugly. Bedroom lighting is better. On Sundays church services are held in their different banquet rooms. It appears there are 3 or 4 church congregations assembling here, which is unusual. This hotel is not on the same level as the nearby Hilton or Holiday Inn, but it's clean. The managers impressed me.

Their website says "Downtown/Conv. Ctr / Tourist Attractions- nearby (3 MI/ 4.83 KM )." There is no way Downtown Center City is 3 miles away. It is definitely further.
