Rates: From $59 a night, as of December 2004.

Location Rating: Near airport. It is a dull area with nothing interesting close by.

Lobby Appearance: Beautiful brand new lobby.

Room Appearance: A little dated. Renovation will begin soon.

Useful Nearby Businesses: This hotel is next to the Quality Inn, which is a related property. Across the street is the "Willows" bar which is a local hang-out. You can shoot a game of pool over there. Five minutes away by foot is the Renaissance Hotel and they have a sports bar and a restaurant. The Renaissance has free wifi in their lobby atrium area if you want to work in a different environment.

Hotel Restaurants: In the Quality Inn building next door is the Hunan Garden Restaurant & Cocktail Lounge. It has a so-so atmosphere with no windows and is small. They say a renovation is coming. The restaurant serves oriental and American food. Breakfast is served beginning at 4am, which is unusually early compared to the other hotels in the airport area.

Other Amenities: Twenty-four hour shuttle bus.

Would I Stay Here? Yes, but I would prefer a new room in the building next door (Quality Inn).

Comments: The rooms are due to be renovated. As things currently are, the rooms are still okay. They are not beat. But the fresh new rooms at the Quality Inn next door are much more appealing.

Both the Econo Lodge and the Quality Inn next door are the type of hotel where you can park in front of your door. If I were staying here and had extra time on my hands, I would probably walk over to the Renaissance to hang-out and shoot some pool. And if you want to see what a groundhog looks like, the Renaissance has a couple dead ones that are on display.
