Street Address: 1, Peremohy Square

Rates: $113 to $405

Location Rating: Very Good. In the city center. A circus is across the street. A shopping mall is next door.

Proximity To Metro:

Lobby Appearance: Nice salt water aquarium. The lobby was buzzing with activity when I was there. The lobby gives a strong impression that this is a nice hotel. A guest approached the front desk to say it was a very nice hotel and thanked them.

Room Appearance: First I saw the 16th floor. It is totally new. A key card was required to use the elevator to get there. Room #1606 looks new and has 13 inch TV. That was a standard room for the lowest price. Room #1602 has twin beds and the beds looked small to me. On the 17th floor I visited room #1704 and it was really, really nice! It has a really nice office with an attractive marble-topped desk, a really, really nice bathroom with a real jacuzzi tub, a room for entertaining with a marble-topped bar with 3 stools and a table for 4. This room actually has 2 bathrooms. Original art hangs on the walls with painting lights highlighting each piece. It feels like a presidential suite, and its just $400!

Useful Nearby Businesses: Victory Square is outside, a circus, a shopping mall. And there are probably all kinds of restaurants within walking distance.

Hotel Restaurants: On the second floor is a very unusual restaurant. It appears you can only get there by asking the security guard in the hotel lobby. He will insert his key card inside the elevator to give you access. Upstairs it's like you are in a village walking down a village street with old street lamps. There are lots of water effects, so you hear the sounds of water. The path winds around a hut with some tables inside for dining inside. Lights in the ceiling simulate stars. In another section of the dining area live music plays. The pathway leads to a casino entrance. There is an emphasis on security here.

A nice-looking restaurant (Lybid's Restaurant) is also on the first floor. It's sort of classy with a quiet atmosphere, pleasant music and it has been decorated in light colors.

A dark bar is also on the first floor.

Other Amenities: Air tickets can be purchased in the lobby.

Would I Stay Here? Yes, especially in that great 17th floor room.

Staff Speaks English? Yes.

Comments: I liked it here.

Reviews for Kiev hotels were done in October and November 2005 by Ed Ryder. Room pricing should not be relied upon as accurate since rates change for various reasons including strong demand and inflation, and where rates have been provided, it is only meant to serve as a guide and all pricing should be verified with the hotel.
