* A really nice, high quality small hotel in an interesting old neighborhood - a hotel gem *

Rates: from $194 to $319

Location Rating: Very good. It is located in an interesting old neighborhood full of 18th and 19th century buildings.

Proximity to metro: No more than a 10 minute walk to Pochtovaya Ploschad metro station.

Lobby Appearance: You can tell after walking in that this is a quality facility.

Room Appearance: They have 17 rooms which are all decorated differently. Their bathrooms are perfect, new, well-lit and perfectly clean.

Useful Nearby Businesses: It's a good neighborhood. There is a sports bar, a Georgian restaurant, a few pizza places, and even a McDonald's.

Hotel Restaurants: They have quite a nice little restaurant. At one time, it was my guide's favorite place to eat.

Other Amenities: You will find candies waiting for you on your pillow here. Free internet access in the rooms. Personal bathrobes and slippers. Safe deposit boxes. Quiet.

Would I stay here? Yes. This is the smart traveller's choice.

Staff speaks English? Yes.

Comments: The Dnipo River is just a few minutes away by foot. The metro is an easy pleasant walk. The local area is very interesting. Lots of interesting old buildings, and much less hustle and bustle compared to the part of the inner city that exists up the hill, away from the river. I really like to find quality, small hotels like this. They say it is rated 3 star, but only because they don't meet certain criteria, like having a pool. The rooms are definitely 4 star quality or better.

Reviews for Kiev hotels were done in October and November 2005 by Ed Ryder. Room pricing should not be relied upon as accurate since rates change for various reasons including strong demand and inflation, and where rates have been provided, it is only meant to serve as a guide and all pricing should be verified with the hotel.
