Doma Arkeetektorov Hotel (House Of

Pushkin, Russia Rates: $24 to $49 Location Rating: This hotel is in Pushkin which
is about 16 miles south of Saint Petersburg. And its location in Pushkin is
fair. Proximity To Metro: It's nowhere near the metro. You can pick up a bus at the Moskovskaya Metro Station to go to Pushkin. We paid just 15 rubles a piece for this ride (50 cents). The commute from the metro probably takes 30 minutes, depending upon traffic. You can also take the train to Saint Petersburg's Pushkinskaya Metro Station. If the idea of being inside a train car that is crammed full of people does not sound appealing, then I suggest you take the bus to Saint Petersburg. The train is not always crowded, but when it is, it is not a pleasant place to be stuck (pure hell). Lobby Appearance: Old. Also, the vines growing up the sides of the building should be cut back. It looks sloppy. Room Appearance: We saw four rooms. The first one looked old and plain, yet had a modern bathroom, so I had higher hopes after seeing it. Then the next three I saw had old, plain rooms with old, unattractive bathrooms, and two of them had easily noticeable and unpleasant smells. The rooms all have a TV and refrigerator. Useful Nearby Businesses: You can buy snacks within a 10 minute walk. Hotel Restaurants: We stuck our head into the restaurant and noticed a smell. I decided not to take a deep whiff. Elena, our guide who accompanied me on this trip, thought the smell was terrible. They have a nice, modern, cozy bar though on the lower floor. Other Amenities: None. Would I Stay Here? No way. Not with those odors. Staff Speaks English? No. Comments: Check out the Natali Hotel in Pushkin. It's much better.
