The hotel is behind CafeMax - a terrific 24 hour internet cafe on Nevsky. You go into the courtyard and immediately bear left to find the door you need to pass through. The hotel is located on the third floor - no elevator.

I like this facility. The first section opened in March 2003. The second section opened December 2003. Now they have 18 rooms. It is a cozy place. There are 2 really small kitchens areas where you can prepare your own meal. Breakfast is included in the room price, which currently ranges from 2590 to 4440 rubles (as of January 2004). Some rooms have a sauna.

Compared to Nevsky 88 (Anabel), this hotel is a little bit better. Both hotels are off the busy Nevsky Prospect and the rooms face courtyards, so the outside noise will be quieter. Both have no air conditioning. Nevsky 88 is smaller, but has a nicer kitchen. But the entryway to 90/92 is easier on the eye. I also like the 2 story feature to 90/92... rooms are on 2 floors inside the hotel. And the entryway is closer to Nevsky, yet still far enough away to be distant from the street noise.

In the photo above, turn right, then immediately left to entrance.

I stayed at this hotel from January 3 to 8, 2005. The staff spoke a very serviceable English and were in every way gracious and accommodating. Everything in this small-scale hotel is new (the wooden floors, doors, and shelves have a wonderful pine aroma) and extraordinarily clean. The breakfast--a customary array of cold meats, cheeses, bread, and cereal--is excellent. The location on Nevsky Prospect could not be better. In addition to the courtyard entrance, there is a fairly well marked access to the hotel from Nevsky Prospect: enter at the door to CafeMax and mount the stairs to the third floor. By no means the cheapest hotel in St. Petersburg, neither is it particularly expensive. A superb value.

Just returned from a wonderful trip from St Petersburg to Moscow via a Viking River Cruise. May 11Th thru may 24Th 2006. We arrived several days early in St Petersburg and stayed at the Nevsky 90 hotel a very nice small hotel just off Nevsky Prospect from which we walked all over the city.

While not a luxury hotel it was new,  clean and cost effective. Two negatives: one involved the rather young staff which held a gathering of friends on Friday evening which was noisy and lasted until the wee hours Saturday. The smell of cigarettes was very bad and as the staff regularly gathered to smoke it will not be long before this non smoking hotel will be unacceptable to non smokers.

The other event involved a plumbing problem evident on Sunday morning which got no acknowledgment from the staff until I mentioned it and was then told the lobby WC was available.

I can't say don't stay at this hotel, but the owners need to keep closer tabs on the staff.
