Guyot Hotel J www.guyot.spb.ru St. Petersburg, Russia Phone: 7 (812) 347-5627
e-mail: hotel@guyot.spb.ru Street Address: 23, Professora Popova str. Rates: All prices are in EURO: single 118, twin/double 152, suite 182, VIP suite 200, presidential suite 362, extra bed 30 (doesn’t include breakfast - that’s an extra 10 EURO); baby cot is free. Location Rating: Fair. You will need to take a taxi to get to the city-center OR walk for quite a long time to Peter and Paul Fortress OR be prepared to use public transportation including the metro to get where you want. Proximity To Metro: Good. 10 minute walk to Petrogradskaya metro station. Lobby Appearance: Spotless. Room Appearance: All 48 rooms are equipped to European standards with Spanish furniture and bathrooms decorated with Italian tiles. Almost each room features air-conditioning, heaters, satellite TV, a telephone, a mini-bar, a hairdryer. Suites have Jacuzzis, slippers and bathrobes. The Presidential suite and a VIP suite can be united and turned into VIP apartments with a private entrance. There are also rooms with interconnecting doors that are very useful for big families. I noticed that standard rooms were very small and had very little furniture and the TVs were also very small. Useful Nearby Businesses: Hmm….there’s nothing nearby, but if you walk in the direction of the metro, you’ll find some grocery stores and cafes. Hotel Restaurants: The restaurant has special decorative elements that make it a nice and cozy place to spend an evening. One part is called "Fireplace Hall." It features a working fireplace. The second part (that can be turned into a private dining room) is called "Old Flat" and it has various Russian things that date back to early 30s and 40s. The central part has a special eastern look to it with dim lighting.
Other Amenities: Beauty parlor (hairdressers, massage salon, manicure, pedicure, turbo solarium (tanning bed), health center with Russian bath, Turkish bath, Japanese bath, infra-red treatment room, hydromassage pools. You can rent the bath complex per hour and this will include a special Oriental Room with hookah, incense and belly dancing! Sounds enticing…! There’s a free billiards/pool table in the restaurant area. Free visa support and free visa registration. Transfers and guided tours offered. The hotel has a water filtration system. Would I Stay Here? Yes. Staff Speaks English? Numerous languages besides English including Chinese and Japanese. Comments: This hotel is easy to find. There is a big sign on the building, BUT when you get in don't be fooled by the empty looking "Reception" area (it says so there). It’s not what you need. Walk through the hall to the door leading into the cozy courtyard (with a café there) and to the right you’ll see the real entrance to the hotel!
