Street Address: 13 Grechesky Prospect, separate entrance, 1st floor.

Rates: Single $50, double for 1 person $ 55,double $60, double with extra bed $75, triple $75.

Location Rating: Excellent. It's a 7 minute walk to Nevsky Prospect and Moskovsky railway station. A big concert hall "BKZ" is also nearby.

Proximity To Metro: Very good. Less than 10 minutes walk to Ploschad Vosstaniya metro station.

Lobby Appearance: They have a very relaxing, classy-looking lobby with super comfortable black leather sofas and a big screen TV. Copies of the most popular Hermitage Museum pictures are on the walls. Some are very interesting.

Room Appearance: All 7 rooms are very cozy and feature satellite TV, telephone, anti mosquito plugs, and brand new bathrooms, but no air-conditioning. The owner said as the walls of the building are very thick, it never gets hot during summer-time. I loved their impressive stain glass windows that let in enough light while separating you away from the street. There are also flowers or other plants in most rooms. Smoking is allowed only in the kitchen.

Useful Nearby Businesses: "Zeleny Porosenok" (Green Piglet) restaurant is next door. The owner says the food is excellent.

Hotel Restaurants: The well-equipped kitchen is a nice place to spend an evening if you don’t feel like going out anywhere. You are welcome to cook if you feel the desire. Beer, soda and water are in the fridge and you can take them anytime you want and pay afterwards. If you take and don’t pay, well, the boss says it’s on your conscience. You can also order food from La Cucaracha Mexican food restaurant at the reception desk.

Other Amenities: Visa support and visa registration is $30. Internet at the reception desk is $1 per hour. Transfers are $30. Fax machine is available for guest use. There is a big city map on the wall near the entrance.

Would I Stay Here? Yes.

Staff Speaks English? Yes. And German too.

Comments: The boss is planning to buy out the 2nd floor of the building to expand the hotel. This would be really great because the place is really nice and the prices are very low! I really enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere of this hotel!
