St. Petersburg, Russia
e-mail: info@filippovhotel.ru Street Address: Nevsky Prospect 142, apt. 86. 2nd floor, (no elevator). Rates: Standard double $85-$100, semi-suite $90-$120, family suite (two double rooms and a hall with a big sofa) $180-$200; room in a family suite $60-$70 (you’ll have to share a bathroom/toilet with people living in the 2nd family suite room - if there will be any), extra bed $20 (breakfast is included). Location Rating: Good. If you decide to walk to the Hermitage Museum it will probably take 30-40 minutes. Proximity To Metro: Very good. It's about a 5 minute walk to Ploschad Vosstaniya metro station. Lobby Appearance: The design of the lobby is absolutely the same as that of the Nevsky 150 hotel. As the manager told me later these two places were designed by the same man. Nice, but plain. Room Appearance: All 5 rooms are air-conditioned, equipped with a TV, a telephone, and internet access. Smoking is allowed. Pets are welcome. Every bathroom has a hairdryer and individual soaps and shampoos.
Useful Nearby Businesses: There’s a very nice restaurant on the first floor of the building called “Hanover.” There is also a coffee place, a bistro and a bank almost next door. And a fitness center with a Russian banya (steam bath) is nearby. Hotel Restaurants: Guests are served continental breakfast in a cozy kitchen-bar area. Snack-bar is available anytime. Guests receive a 5% discount in the Goldola Café at Nevsky 150. Other Amenities: Visa support and visa registration, internet $1 or $1.30 per hour, transfers, tours and excursions offered. Would I Stay Here? Yes. Staff Speaks English? Yes. Comments: Once you see the big sign saying Filippov in Russian, press 86 and then a bell on the code-lock and somebody from the reception will open the door for you.
