This hotel just changed ownership in January 2002. It was the Sheraton Nevskiy Palace Hotel.

UPDATE: March 2005
The hotel is expanding and construction is on-going next door. See new photo at the bottom of this page.

Peak Season Rates: Single classic room $336; double classic room $384; deluxe single $396; deluxe double $480; single smart room $396; double smart room $480; single junior suite $600; double junior suite $660; single executive suite $660; double executive suite $720; presidential suite I $1600; presidential suite II $1900; single towers classic room $564; double towers classic room $600; single towers executive suite $740; double towers executive suite $800. Prices do not include the required 25 percent tax. Breakfast is an extra $22. And white nights rates may be higher.

Location Rating: Excellent. The heart of the city.Photo: Corinthia Nevskij Palace Hotel, St. Petersburg, Russia

Proximity to Metro: Very good. It's a 7 to 10 minute walk in either direction. Gostiny Dvor or Mayakovskaya Metro Station.

Lobby Appearance: Clean, modern and attractive with plenty of attendants waiting to serve you (or throw you out if you don't belong).

Room Appearance: The hotel was opened in 1993 and they are planning on refurbishing their 283 rooms. But they are still fine quality rooms of course. Among the 283 rooms, 110 are non-smoking.

Useful Nearby Businesses: Everything is here. You merely have to walk down the sidewalk.

Hotel Restaurants: They have some really nice looking restaurants - five.

Other Amenities: Everything you would expect a top hotel to have. In addition, they have a doctor available 24 hours a day.

Would I Stay Here? Absolutely.

Staff Speaks English? Yes, of course.

Comments: There is a mini mall here with upscale shops including an interesting little art gallery. As of January 2002 the hotel was sold. The new owners will develop the two adjoining buildings to add more hotel space and shops. But these improvements will not be finished for quite a while and not in time for the 2003 celebration.
