The Comfort Hotel opened in Summer 2002. The hotel is about a 5 minute walk from Saint Isaac's Square. The only outdoor signage is on the door. To enter the hotel, you must ring a doorbell and wait to be let in. This makes the hotel very secure, but it might also be a pain. However, there is always someone available 24 hours a day to open the door.

During my visit on January 8th, 2004 the hotel was under partial construction. Eight rooms were currently available. They were boosting that number up to 14 rooms which they expected to have ready by Spring (2004).

I was greeted by the beautiful blue-eyed Marina at the front desk. The rooms are tastefully decorated and quite nice. The facility has central air conditioning. There is a small 3 table hang-out area by the front desk.

The location is quite good. The rooms are very comfortable. Off-season pricing as of January 2004 is 95 to 179 y.e. Breakfast is included. The entryway in the photo may make it appear this place is nothing special, but it really is a good place to stay.

I cannot say enough good things about the Comfort Hotel. The rooms are nicely appointed, nice bed linen and towels and terry robes and slippers.  Included Breakfast had nice variety in a pleasant little room.  Most of all was the warmth, courtesy and helpfulness of the staff. My sister, who has traveled all over the world (who was traveling with me) said she, took, couldn't say enough good things about this "mini-hotel."

Hello Ed,
Yes, I do remember: 25 Bolshaya Morskaya. And, by the way, they sent us
to a little restaurant just around the corner, called Dmitri, which was
small, personal, excellent food and they made the best Bloody Mary I
have ever had.
