Location Rating: Good. On a quiet street in the heart of the city.

Proximity To Metro: Fair. 20-25 minute walk to Vladimirskaya/Dostoyevskaya, Mayakovskaya or Chernyshevskaya metro stations.

Lobby Appearance: Very old-fashioned and crappy looking.

Room Appearance: Guests must share one bathroom and one toilet.

Useful Nearby Businesses: There are lots of nice and cozy cafes in this area where you can have a good lunch at a reasonable price.

Would I Stay Here? No.

Staff Speaks English? Yes.

Comments: They said they didn’t need any publicity at all and that they’re not interested in any kind of advertisement. I can guess why! This hotel belongs to Bolshoi Puppet Theater and actually this is not a hotel, but a very crappy hostel. Very soviet-era looking. I can tell they haven’t had any renovation work done for ages! On my way out I noticed two hippie-looking tourist girls enter the building. Hmm…probably they’re happy with the living conditions?
