It's located in the historical part of the city, yet to get to the Hermitage and the city center you need to take the metro. You can walk to Peter and Paul Fortress though. It will take you approximately 30 minutes. Proximity To Metro: Good. 7 minute walk to Petrogradskaya metro station. Lobby Appearance: Spotless and very modern with glass walls and comfortable modern sofas, small chairs and a big flat-screen TV. Room Appearance: Very new and clean. All 140 rooms ( 116 doubles/twins, 16 singles, 8 suites) feature air-conditioning, satellite TV, a telephone, access to the internet, anti-mosquito plugs, heaters and electronic locks on the doors. Bathrooms are very modern and bathrooms in the suites have Jacuzzis. Smoking is allowed. Useful Nearby Businesses: Not much is in the immediate neighborhood. Hotel Restaurants: There is a big modern restaurant where a buffet table for breakfast is presented. Other Amenities: Lobby-bar open 24 hours, conference hall, safety deposit boxes at the reception desk, transfers, visa registration. Would I Stay Here? Yes. Staff Speaks English? Yes. And some other languages as well. Comments: The former Druzhba Hotel has been transformed into a really nice place with European standards. It opened in late May 2004. I really loved the aroma that was in the air - very relaxing.
