Location Rating: Fair. Nikolsky (St.Nicolas’s) and Troitsky (Trinity) Cathedrals are within easy walking distance. The area is called the soul of old Petersburg. The heroes of the books of Gogol, Pushkin and Dostoyevsky used to live here. But to reach the real city-center you either have to walk a lot (some 20-30 minutes) or to take a mini-bus.

Proximity To Metro: Fair. 20 minute walk to Sadovaya/Sennaya Ploschad metro station.

Lobby Appearance: Classy. Very welcoming. This historical building was created in 1829, and major renovation has recently been done.

Room Appearance: All rooms are equipped with satellite TV, telephone, mini-bar, fridge, central air-conditioning and high-speed internet access (it's possible to rent a laptop). Each room is unique - the rooms are named after the world’s most beautiful cities and styled accordingly. Smoking is allowed.

Useful Nearby Businesses: None.

Hotel Restaurants: There is a very nice dining hall with a big table and a small kitchen in the corner where every morning a Russian woman makes home breakfasts for the guests of this unusual hotel.

Other Amenities: A new Relax-center and a new restaurant are under construction. A library and a conference hall are on the third floor. Visa support 20 EUR. Transfers offered.

Would I Stay Here? Yes.

Comments: They say they have special water filters that make tap water okay for drinking.
