Would I Stay Here? Yes.

The communal stairway is old and crappy, but it is so comfortable once inside this 5 room hotel. I like the main corridor with its warm halogen lighting. There is a nice little kitchen with a view of a brick wall, but it looks fine and even artsy. The rooms have no bathrooms. There are 2 shower rooms, and 2 toilet rooms. One shower has a toilet as well. There is bottled water available to guests.

This facility opened February 15th, 2003. It is very close to Kazanski Cathedral and Nevsky Prospect. A very interesting pedestrian bridge over the canal is just steps up the street, as well as a view of the unusual, very Russian, Church Of Spilled Blood.

I usually don't like hotels with shared bathroom facilities, but this hotel has a certain cozy feel that seems to make it more acceptable to me. And the prices are very good: $35 and up as of 1/27/04.
